Presidents of the United States of America: 2003-03-15 – South By Southwest (SXSW), Town Lake Stage at Auditorium Shores, Austin, TX (SXSW) – Audience tape

This is the 4th show after the reunion, and the earliest that is circulating. Presidents of the USA got together few months earlier (New Year’s Eve 2002 in Crocodile Cafe).

Andrew McKeag would replace Dave Dederer in 2004. There are only few tapes featuring Dave Dederer from the reunion era. So this is a pretty rare treat. With Dave Dederer the Presidents were more of a rock’n’roll group, when Andrew joined the sound changed to a little more laid back. Don’t get me wrong. I do enjoy both of the line-ups.

I have no idea where I have gotten this (downloaded from somewhere maybe). Sound was louder on left channel, and I changed the balance a bit, and did some minor tweaking to make it sound more fresh. Great sounding audience tape, with a mixture of some old and new PUSA tracks. Crowd seems to be really into this gig.

Setlist:

Intro / Kick Out the Jams / Boll Weevil / Feather Pluckn – Baby, You’re A Rich Man / Drool at You / Naked and Famous / Lump / Highway Forever / Kitty / Dune Buggy / Jilted on the Tarmac by You / Body / Some Postman / Peaches / We’re Not Gonna Make It – Ace of Spades

Line-up: Chris Ballew, Dave Dederer and Jason Finn
