If you missed Caspar Babypants (aka Chris Ballew of The Presidents of the United States of America) on The Marty Riemer Show this morning, you can download it or watch the webcast now. He talks about memorizing his songs, preparing to play a wedding with The Presidents, and writing music for children. Later on in the podcast, Marty’s daughter Josie joins them in the studio for Caspar Babypants’ performances of “$9.99? from his first album, More Please!, and “Brown and Lonely Worm” from his new album, Here I Am!.
There has been some hardware upgrades done to the pusabase hosting server, and it might take a while before things runs smoothly again. I had to press refresh button couple of times just to write this blog post.
Hey all! So I am working on the new record like crazy and I have this song called WHAT DO YOU FIND? and I have written tqo different versions and I cant decide which one to actually record! I wondered if you would like to listen to both and tell me which one makes your kids happy or YOU happy and then I might have some clues about which one is the winner….THANKS!! You can comment on this post to leave you ideas and I will get them!
New song Tumble Down is available for download at Caspar Babypants website. It’s more bluesy than most of the Caspar Babypants tunes. Maybe a bit too much reverb on vocals. I like my blues dry & raw… Oh yes, target audience might a bit different.
Album news:
Taken from Caspar Babypant’s Facebook post:

PUSA Interviews from 1996 to 2006. (Video & Audio) Jason Finn interview from 1996 is great stuff, and quality is great! What a gem! Toazted.com archives
Is it a PUSA original or a cover song? It’s both… Nasty Masty was written by Dave Dederer’s sister Claire Dederer, and one or two her friends. It’s about masturbation, and it’s one of those nastier songs PUSA has played (Froggystyle version of Candy Cigarette comes to my mind). How it’s a cover song then? Well… the verse is “loaned” from Sex Pistols The Great Rock ‘N’ Roll Swindle.
It’s unknown how many times or when they started to play this song live, but the only circulating version is from 1994-05-04 – Crocodile Cafe, Seattle, WA…

Sometimes you can find old files from the Internet…that still exists!
Found this old gem from NPR’s (National Public Radio) website. It’s a Subset interview by Marcie Sillman (KUOW). Original airdate was November 06, 1999. It was in whopping 8kbps Real Audio 2.0 format… Oh, the 90′s, when Real Audio was shit (not the shit)… Now the latest version is Real Player 11, and it appears that the Real Player/Audio is still the same piece of shit. Luckily i managed to save the stream to MP3 format. (I have the original as FLAC too, but i doubt it’s worth sharing)
Thanks to 8kbps stream, It sounds like the original broadcast was from the 50′s, and it doesn’t help that the broadcast starts out about talking 50′s hit Heartbreak Hotel by Elvis Presley.
Thats right! we are having GREAT shows these days and I am STILL writing songs like a wee madman! Just demoed up one this morning with josie on vocals with me called “What If?”. It is about an old wise crow that sits in the woods and a beetle a bear and a baby all come and ask it questions about stuff they are worried about and the crow gives very funny smart answers. Josie plays the part of the beetle the bear and the baby and I am the narrator and the crow. It is a kind of story song. FUN!!
