I bought myself a new video editing software (Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 Suite)…and I had to give it some test drive.
Here it is, the first “real” music video by pusabase:
The Presidents Of The USA – We Are Not Going to Make It (Popllama version)
I have some PUSA live videos I want to work with, but I’m currently waiting another video software to get an update.
Few words about the Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 Suite:
I tried many different video editors (demo versions) before buying this one. Including Adobe Premiere Elements 8, Pinnacle Studio 14 , Cyberlink PowerDirector 8, Corel Videostudio Pro X3…you name it…
None of the previous did not offer easy video dubbing features. I don’t like reading manuals so I can work, and with Sony Vegas I haven’t read a line..
With Sony Vegas Studio I was home instantly, mostly because It’s very similar to Reaper (audio editing software, and another software that doesn’t require manual)
Suite bundle is dead cheap. It features Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 10 + NewBlueFX Audio & Video Plugins pack + Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 (worth $59) + DVD Architect Studio 5.0
..and when it’s not melting hot, pusabase site will get an update. As always: I’m collecting more material for the next update. Submissions at pusabase help page:
Until then. Here is some of the latest Presidential activity:
2010-06-18 – The Blue Loon, Fairbanks, Alaska
The Presidents have a more relaxed approach to touring. Instead of officially hitting the road, about every six weeks they play a few gigs in different parts of the country. This time it’s Fairbanks; next time it’s Washington state and then Illinois after that.
Lead singer and player of the basitar (a six-string guitar with two of the strings replaced with bass strings) Chris Ballew said it’s just a way for everyone to chill.
“We’re cooling our heels, taking walks on the beach,” Ballew said. “Enjoying the fruits of our labor.”
The Presidents, who formed in Seattle in 1993, are known for their highenergy, alt-grunge rock sound. But Ballew said that underneath it are just simple songs inspired by traditional folk elements.
“But with a frosting of irony on top,” Ballew clarified.
When asked to give a more specific description of The Presidents’ stage style, all Ballew could say was this: “It’s a sugar-coated pillow fight.”

107.9 THE ALTERNATIVE live at the Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip. Dennis Huff and Gonzo interview the Presidents of the United States of America. February 18, 2010.
The Presidents still play concerts from time to time (including two recent appearances at the Napavine Amphitheater), but don’t plan on any more albums. Instead, Ballew, 44 and living in Seattle, is following his heart, which brought him to Caspar Babypants.
