I’m an Internet Archaeologist. Pusabase.com is a fine example how it works.
There are still tons of stuff waiting to be added. I’m gonna keep adding more videos, and after that maybe some MP3′s!?
If you have some DVD concerts (or pretty much any digital format) & VHS videos (PAL). Please let me know.
..and when it’s not melting hot, pusabase site will get an update. As always: I’m collecting more material for the next update. Submissions at pusabase help page:
Until then. Here is some of the latest Presidential activity:
2010-06-18 – The Blue Loon, Fairbanks, Alaska
The Presidents have a more relaxed approach to touring. Instead of officially hitting the road, about every six weeks they play a few gigs in different parts of the country. This time it’s Fairbanks; next time it’s Washington state and then Illinois after that.
Lead singer and player of the basitar (a six-string guitar with two of the strings replaced with bass strings) Chris Ballew said it’s just a way for everyone to chill.
“We’re cooling our heels, taking walks on the beach,” Ballew said. “Enjoying the fruits of our labor.”
The Presidents, who formed in Seattle in 1993, are known for their highenergy, alt-grunge rock sound. But Ballew said that underneath it are just simple songs inspired by traditional folk elements.
“But with a frosting of irony on top,” Ballew clarified.
When asked to give a more specific description of The Presidents’ stage style, all Ballew could say was this: “It’s a sugar-coated pillow fight.”
1) Recordings section now has a list of known unofficial PUSA live recordings. (NO, I don’t have any of those shows listed as uncirculating, and I wish I had!). Video list to follow.
2) YouTube-channel launched. I will upload new videos from time to time. I need to get some DVD’s.
It’s now also possible to upload your videos to pusabase.com, and get them enchanted! (stabilized, sharpened, color corrected, upscaled to HD, and audio remastered etc…)
3) Front page now has a list of upcoming shows. In case you have missed it.
+ I’ve added some “silent” updates to the site on last two months, and some shows between 1995-2010 got their details updated.
1975-1992 tour history added, lyrics, articles (almost 50% more), EGG songography, Bandography pages updated, setlists, notes, reviews etc…. plenty of goodies all over the place.
- Media section revisited.
- Discography removed, replaced by recordings.
- Contact -> Help
- News page removed. All the updates are now in blog
Pusabase history starts in 2003, and since then it has been in many different locations. Pusabase.com domain turns 1 year today, and hopefully there is many years to come.
- Nice amount of new shows added. Starting from 1993! posters, tickets, photos, setlists, details… Some bandography updates, and couple of new articles added to media section. Oh and ASCII pusabase text from frontpage had to leave. Some search engines does not like it. Gotta find something else to spice the frontpage up.
Next week it’s time to add 50 PUSA shows i didn’t know much about. I gotta quote the Dude here: “new shit has come to light”. I have some details alright, but need to do some serious Googling…
Official Live Tracks Guide is finally ready. Still couple of compilations missing details…which i finally ordered from amazon.com (used & new section is better than ebay btw).
Lyrics sections is also in much better shape, and now i can focus on adding more lyrics. If you have any missing lyrics, feel free to send them.
About 50+ shows got details edited once again. dozens of new posters, tickets, photo links, setlists, other bands…and I managed to find couple of missing shows too. Next week I’m gonna add dozen or two new shows. I worked full days with the site this week, and i think it pays up.
Oh! And there might be something extremely rare and special PUSA material coming up later this year. I got my hopes high on that one, and i really hope it goes through, so I can tell the story…
I was originally planning to update the whole lyrics section (well, there is couple of new PUSA lyrics.) I ended up adding dozens of new shows, setlists, posters, tickets, reviews details…you name it. Overall something like 100+ shows was updated. Plenty of new stuff to read and explore on concert pages 1993-2010. This is the biggest concert update since the last years re-visiting project.
Some PUSA songography updates, and articles added once again.
Next week update will most likely to contain lyrics & more detailed live b-side guide.
Lyrics section reworking project started! So far only the PUSA lyrics has been updated to this “new look”. Check em out!
1995-2010 tour dates updated once again. I think something like 50+ shows got more details! Plenty of new shows added, venue details, reviews, notes, setlists…
