Great two song semi-acoustic performance. Chris plays an electric basitar, and Andrew plays an acoustic guitbass… sound mix is pretty bad. Let’s not talk about the audience (never seen such a hostile group in my life. I was 99% sure that the bottles and rocks would start to fly…) Oh, and Jason makes and appearance too…

2009-07-31 – Grog Shop, Cleveland

I’m convinced that band founder and frontman Chris Ballew hasn’t lost a step in the band’s sixteen years together. For the record, original drummer Jason Finn had his set under full control and guitbass master Andrew McKeag (with whom I recently conducted this interview) has crazy chops.

Featuring some better news:

We don’t tour very hard anymore. We don’t go out for too long and try to kill ourselves. The band went through that in the early days, and that’s one thing that caused the first breakup. We’re doing a few shows this year, and then Chris has a solo record coming out. Hopefully, we’ll get together next year and get some more songs together.

More songs together…Damn. If that ain’t good news…I don’t know what is.

On other news: Chris demonstrated PUSAbase to a presidential “super fan” Q, at 9:30 club in Washington… One of those compliments that really gives you that boost to update the site… Good times…
