I recently found a batch of old videos I have downloaded from all around the web. Presidents of the USA, Caspar Babypants, The Feelings Hijackers… Pretty much anything Chris Ballew & PUSA related. Starting from webcasts from late 90’s (Remember Real Audio?) to around early 2010’s. Good times! Of course I didn’t label them, because of course you can do that later on…Like 10 years later when everything is fresh in your memory. Maybe one day I will get motivation to update the Pusabase site too. It’s been what? 10 years…

Here are three videos from the TFH concert from High Dive, Seattle, WA.

Original videos were flash videos (remember flash?). 448×336, 15fps. Audio quality was really poor. I did my best to upgrade the video & audio. First time using AI to convert 15fps to 60fps. Worked like magic. Yeah, some parts are not perfect, but still better than the original slide show. 15 frames per second.

Hello PUSA World!

Life goes so damn fast! It’s been almost 5 years since I have last time updated the PUSAbase site. And no…I still haven’t! Sorry!
Maybe, if the band gets back together, I’ll get an inspiration to update the site. Right now I’m focusing on my well-being. What I’ve been up to since 2014? 3 or 4 moves, lots of ups and downs. If you want to know more about my personal life. I wrote a book about it! Yeah, it was likely as me being a President or finding cure to a cancer (all types). Book has little about the Presidents of the USA too. Book has been proofread, unlike any other writings I’ve done.
Why I’m writing this? Because I know I have promised to update the site more than few times, and I still haven’t.

Last summer I had an idea of getting my music available to the major music streaming services, and use all the gained revenue to buy a a solar panel system (20 panels or more). Although I don’t think I can reach that goal without a help. Here is how it works:

Currently the Solar Panel playlists holds total of 250 songs, and each time the playlist gets played from start to finish, it would add about one dollar to the solar panel budget (That’s my estimate). Now I need t o find 12000 people to listen my playlist(s) to cover all the costs. Music streaming services has hundreds of millions of users combined. So the goal should not be impossible?

My goal is to get the funds in 500 days. That would mean only 24 full playlist listens daily! This is where I’ll need your help!

My First Book Is Coming! Featuring the Presidents

It’s been over 3 years since I made an update on this blog. This time it’s something I never thought that would happen. I wrote a book! Can you believe it? I’ve been an anonymous Internet user since mid 90’s. It’s now over. I won’t be anonymous anymore. Of course some people knew my real name from the past, but I’ve always kept my privacy.

Even thought the title is about How Bruce Springsteen’s music saved my life, but it’s really my survival story. It’s about my high school years. Something I’ve shamed for a long time.

Yes, there is the Presidents of the USA content too. I have to give credit to the Presidents in this blog post too. If I would have never discovered the Presidents of the USA. I doubt I would have ended up doing anything creative in my life. The Presidents has been a huge part and inspiration in my life.

I’m sure that the book also explains why the Pusabase has been inactive so long.

What’s next? Later in life I will set focus to my own music, with my own voice. I have released some instrumental music tracks, but those doesn’t define who I am. In the future I want to do all the things I have wanted to do. I won’t be silenced anymore.

Out of the blue comes out this unreleased The Giraffes album “We Hear Music”, whopping 33 tracks of unreleased music.

The Giraffes started as a one man band, but later turned into a full-time band including drummer Mike Musburger (Fastbacks, Posies, Uptights), and multi-instrumentalist Jason Staczek.

“Founded by Chris Ballew, the former lead singer and songwriter for the multi-platinum artists The Presidents of the United States of America, The Giraffes’ first album, 13 Other Dimensions, was released in February 1998 and featured a made-up band of hand puppets invented by Chris. “hey super fans!
SO I put a bunch of 8 track cassette stuff in the car a few weeks ago and I have been listening to it driving around. This is all stuff that never made its way onto a Giraffes record back in the day and I was a little blown away by some of it….enough so that I have decided to make a NEW Giraffes album JUST FOR YOU GUYS (and girl!).
I will send it to you via Hightail zipped up when it is finished (gotta do a little mastering and editing) and then you guys (and girl) can be the ones that share it with the world however you want. The only caveat is NO MONEY WILL CHANGE HANDS. I want this to be a FREE thank you record to you guys (and girl) primarily and then you can be the givers of the music to the others that would care out there in the world.
This will be a pretty juicy album with maybe a couple songs you have heard demos of but probably 99% totally unreleased and could top 30 tracks.
Why let the stuff rot on a hard drive right?
Gonna start plucking away at this soon…maybe release it in a couple weeks?
