Great web browser plugin / software – Web Of Trust)
I do plenty of research to my Pusabase site using Google and other major search engines. It’s hard to say which sites are safe to use, and which are not……This is where the WOT (Web Of Trust) comes handy.
“Web of Trust (WOT) is a community-based website reputation rating tool that uses a traffic-light style rating system to give Internet users additional information about a website before they visit it. WOT allows users to add their input on the categories of trustworthiness, vendor reliability, privacy and child safety of a website based on their experience with the site and/or services they offer. The rating scale ranges from poor to excellent and is algorithmic. It calculates the reputation of a website through a combination of user ratings and data from other sources” – Wikipedia
WOT also works greatly on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. I recommend this software to all of my friends, and I haven’t heard any negative comments. Green sites are safe, yellow so-so, red be careful…. of course this doesn’t make all the web browsing safe, but it’s a nice tool to every computer user. I see my Facebook friends clicking those nasty sites way too often.
