Review: Quest Nutrition, Protein Bar, Cookies & Cream (Available on Vitacost & iHerb)
Hunt for the best protein bar continues. I have tried soon almost every protein bar from Quest Nutrition. Quest Nutrition is totally different protein bar maker, unlike their competitors, there’s plenty of fiber in each bar, high quality protein, and pretty much zero sugar.
How does this quality taste like?
Because there’s no sugar used (just sweeteners), some of the Quest Nutrition bars have strong stevia aftertaste. Luckily this Cookies and Cream flavor isn’t one of them. Some reviews I have read says these are better than oreos, but I wouldn’t go that far.
Here’s how the actual bar looks like:
Yes, these does taste slightly to oreos, but better? No. Well, the picture on box looks really delicious. There’s nice texture, crunchy cookie pieces. Some folks say this is too sweet, but to be honest, there’s plenty of other protein bars that are way more sweeter. If something, these are just a littly salty (like some other Quest Nutrition bars)
High amount of fibers (17g) and protein (21g) keeps hunger away for a nice amount of time. Easy to recommend for replacing pretty much any meal (but I wouldn’t eat more than two per day, thanks to amount of fibers)
This Cookies & Cream bar is pretty much the only bar I can recommend from Quest Nutrition without hesitation. If your on Atkins diet, this should fit pretty well for that. I found the other flavors to be just OK, but with Quest Nutrition it isn’t all about taste. Sadly there’s not much competition with these kind of protein/meal replacement bars.
PS. I bought my Quest Nutrition bars from Iherb, because they are much cheaper there than what they would cost in Finland. BUT for USA customers, you can get these slightly cheaper from Vitacost (too high postage for International customers).
