Auckland
Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand, has so much to offer and attracts people from all around the world. Enjoy a day at the stunning west coast beaches such as the black sand beach Piha or Karekare, both very attractive for surfing. Visit the insightful Auckland War Memorial Museum or the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki. Rotorua
Visit the hot springs and geysers in Rotorua, which the town is famous for. It’s the thermal wonderland of New Zealand and attracts visitors with unique spas and natural hot pools such as Lake Rotoiti Hot Pools or Polynesian Spa. Visit Te Puia for bubbling mud pools and geysers or Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, a geothermal park with the most famous geyser, Lady Knox Geyser, which erupts daily. Watch the stunning Okere Falls or give White water rafting a try with the world’s highest commercially rafted fall with a 7m drop.
Taupo
Taupo, a town in the central North Island, offers many attractions. Visit the spectacular Huka Falls or take a hike along the Lions Walk for stunning lookouts. Lake Taupo has many water activities such as Jet Boating, fishing, sailing, kayaking and more.
Wellington
Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, is also called Windy Welly and offers a variety of culture, art and entertainment. The city has a stunning harbour and, because it is surrounded by hills, numerous great lookout such as Mount Victoria and Mount Kaukau. A fascinating museum is Te Papa as well as the Museum of Wellington City and Sea. Visit the Parliament Buildings, the Turnbull House and the Old St Paul’s.
Christchruch
Known as the Garden City, Christchurch stands out with its green scenery. Take a walk at the Botanic Gardens and lose yourself in the picturesque landscape of exotic and indigenous plants as well as the Avon River. Despite Christchurch still recovers from major earthquakes you can visit most of its sights and attractions. Visit the Christchurch Art Gallery, the Air Force Museum or the Canterbury Museum for Maori and natural history. The famous International Antarctic Centre is the place to experience the Antarctic with simulated polar weather, penguins and much more. Check out New Zealand’s largest wildlife sanctuary, the Orana Wildlife Park, featuring animals from around the world.
