Affiliate Battle: iHerb vs Vitacost

iHerb Rewards vs Vitacost’s Refer A Friend – Which Affiliate Network is Better?

Vitacost and iHerb are two large online stores for natural products and supplements. I’m sure there are more, but these two ships worldwide, and have gained reputation with their affiliate networks.

IHERB:

Iherb rewards program started as a MLM program, but it was discontinued as the Multi-Level Marketing had (and still has) a bad reputation. That was sad news to me, as I started to level up really nice with their rewards system. Earlier this year they’ve removed the personal coupon codes, but now the codes works again, and now the rewards program gives discount to both new and old customers. 5% OFF from every order. 5 dollars OFF from 1st order is still available, but you’ll need a separate coupon for that. Previous system only gave discount to first time customers. Iherb also recently introduced a new Shipping Saver system, which allows customers to get lower shipping rates (sometimes totally free shipping, even wordwide!). I hope they stick to this for now on. The program has changed too many times over the last two years.

VITACOST:

Vitacost’s “Refer A Friend” remained the same for years, $10.00 OFF from first order. It was bit boring, but great! Both users got a $10.00 reward. That was until now! Current system is really ridiculous. You can only refer 5 customers per month! and the discount coupon is worth only 5 dollars!  What the actual…

Here’s the answer I’ve got regarding the their new rewards system:

“To better serve our customers and to provide you and the rest of our customers the best possible price, our company has revised our policies. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.”

Hope they come back to their senses.

Winner?:

Earlier this year it was Vitacost, but now it’s iHerb. Hopefully Vitacost revisits their “Refer A Friend” program. Iherb has unlimited number of referrals you can get, and the promo code works for existing customers also.
