Sports Direct Review – Is it better than the Amazon UK?
When Amazon UK removed their Free European Supersaver Delivery, and also raised their regular postage costs. I had to search for some alternatives.
Does the Sports Direct offer any help with that loss?
SportsDirect.com is one of the largest British online sports stores. Everyday there’s a deal you don’t want to miss. I wonder why I haven’t stumbled upon this website before. Even thought it’s sports store, there’s still regular clothes (like jeans, shirts etc.) available.
First SportsDirect Order:
I ordered a stunt scoot as a present, bunch of clothes and other stuff. It was a nice surprise to see Paypal as payment option. I prefer PayPal, because it’s fast and easy. Also safe, if things go wrong.
Shipping cost was only 4.99 pounds. Free shipping is available on UK only(?)
After you have finished your order, you can track the order via SportsDirect website. This is a huge plus.
For some reason after my order, I received an email that I haven’t ordered the items that were on my shopping cart. Thankfully it was a false alarm, and everything was OK.
Packing and Delivery Time:
All the items came within a week. Which was pretty much the only positive thing about the shipping.
Everything was loosely packed inside of large plastic bag, which was ripped open! Postman asked me to check that everything was in place. I counted the packages and everything was there.
Then I started to assemble the stunt scoot. Original box was in pieces, and it was tried to put together by SportsDirect. I’m 99,9% sure it was a previously sold item. All the bolts where loosely inside of the broken box, and during the assembling, I noticed one bolt was missing. Luckily, it was inside the broken plastic bag!
Miraculously everything came trough.
Of course I mailed about their packing style, and asked, if this was their regular packing style. It appears that it’s not:
I am sorry to hear about how you received your parcel we will have to investigate this within our warehouse as we don’t normally send parcels out like this.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Conclusion:
I’m thinking about re-ordering from SportsDirect.com. Prices were so cheap, but next time I’m gonna think twice before ordering anything heavy.
